On 30 November 2025, our boat trip to the Tolo Channel area, led by our esteemed retired professor, Prof. LS Chan, provided a delightful experience and fostered stronger bonds among our alumni. We visited several field localities, including Kat O (吉澳), Cing To Chau (秤砣洲), Tang Chau (燈洲), and Che Lei Pai (扯𢃇排) to study the hydrothermal breccia pipes and deformation structures along the Tolo Channel area. The field study was comprehensive, providing a highly engaging and educational experience that deepened participants' understanding of the geological features and processes in the region.

The trip was attended by 33 participants, including retired professors, university staff, current students, alumni and family members. This gathering not only facilitated hands-on learning but also served as a nostalgic journey, recalling old memories and friendships forged through previous field studies. It was an inspiring occasion that highlighted the enduring spirit of geological exploration.
